Why We Started Equals Even
We're Dr. Helen and Dr. Kathryn, sisters and doctors who spent years treating teenage skin concerns in our clinics. Day after day, we saw young people struggling with breakouts that affected not just their skin, but their confidence and mental wellbeing.
The problem was clear: over 80%* of UK teenagers experience acne, with onset age now dropping to 9-12 years old. But the solutions were all wrong. Teenagers were using products designed for adult skin (too harsh), following viral TikTok trends (14-year-olds using retinol), or doing nothing because they didn't know where to start.
As both doctors and mothers, we knew we could do better. So we created Equals Even, an evidence-based skincare designed specifically for developing skin, with the medical credibility families can trust.

Dr. Helen & Dr. Kathryn have been practicing doctors for 20 years, with a particular focus on dermatology and adolescent health. "We wanted to create skincare that addresses both the physical symptoms and the emotional impact of acne, products with genuine medical credibility that families can trust. Too many young people were trying everything and getting nowhere. We created Equals Even to offer evidence-based solutions that are both gentle and genuinely effective."
